Save
the Planet
"Colorpak
Ltd is committed to finding solutions which ensure minimal impact
on the environment around us."
Consumers
want packaging products to cause as little damage to the world
around us whilst maintaining their integrity as a product.
We at Colorpak
Ltd recycle 98% of all waste to reduce the amount of packaging
found in land fills. A large proportion of the recycled material
is exported overseas and some is reintroduced into the manufacturing
process for industrial products only.
Our recycling
initiative, not only protects our future but also provides employment
for many unemployed youths in the Morobe Province.
With an increasing
number of manufacturers outside Papua New Guinea moving towards
degradable products, in November 2005 Colorpak Ltd took the initiative,
and working in conjunction with an internationally recognized
leader in the plastics market have introduced d2w™ into
the manufacturing process. This additive ensures 100% degradability
of the product as required and unlike the biological starch additive
which requires certain environmental conditions (such as burial
in dirt) to commence the degradation process, our product will
degrade with exposure to air and light leaving nothing more than
water, and a small amount of bio mass.
Our ISO accredited
status means that we can guarantee you quality products, all the
time.
- Using plastic
film for packaging saves trees - it requires 3 times as much
energy to make a paper bag as compared to a similar plastic
one
- Plastic
packaging is the most cost effective means of storing, transporting
and protecting your product
- Most flexible
plastic packaging is recyclable
- Without
plastic packaging, the cost of packaging would increase by 200%
and the weight of packaging waste would increase by some 400%
- Polyethylene,
being inert, cannot leach toxic chemicals into underground streams
when deposited in landfill
